In order to guide the intellectual control students to deeply learn and understand the spirit of scientists, and to cultivate an excellent academic atmosphere in the whole school, the preliminary round of the Speech Contest of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Control Engineering of Shanghai Polytechnic University Carrying Forward the Spirit of Scientists, Being the Light Chasers of Science and Technology in the New Era was kicked off in the classroom of 6104 at noon of April 3, 2024, which was held at the school of Shanghai Polytechnic University.

A total of 13 candidates participated in the contest, and each of them told their unique interpretation of Carry forward the spirit of scientists and be the light pursuer of science and technology in the new era in a colorful manner with a full face, fluent expression, and pertinent and touching examples. The atmosphere at the contest site was warm, and the judges and audience listened to each candidate's speech with bated breath.

After a fierce competition, Sun Jiale and Caiqi Shou won the first prize, Sui Dongxue, Du Shipeng and Ren Miaoxue won the second prize, Zhang Xin, Zhang Yifan, Lu Xiaoran and Lv Qingyang won the third prize, and Xiong Yiyi, Song Xinran, Xu Yan, and Li Zhiyuan won the winner's prize.

The competition received great support and attention from teachers and students, and provided a platform for the intellectual control students to show themselves and exercise their abilities. It is hoped that the intellectual control students can combine their disciplines and specialties, personal experience and observation and thinking, seriously study and understand the stories of scientists, and learn and practice the spirit of contemporary scientists with the power of contemporary students.
